Dennis Jackson
SALINE CO., Ill. - The Harrisburg man alleged to have been behind some of the city's "gang" activity over the past several years is jailed today following multiple charges on meth-related crimes.
Dennis D. Jackson, 31, was the subject of warrants issued March 15 following what authorities are saying were three separate incidents of meth delivery earlier this month - on March 6, March 10, and March 14.
Jackson's residence, located on the 500 block of West Poplar, was the subject of a a huge police presence this morning at about 6 a.m., where search warrants were being carried out.
Jackson was reported to have been involved in many of the incidents of "gang"-related activity in the city dating back about five or six years, which you can read about here, here, here and here. He has never been charged in connection with any of the incidents; material has come in from those in his circle, however, that his influence on some of the thugs in his group is what's prompting nearly all the shootings in town.
Officially, Jackson is now charged with three separate counts of Meth Delivery more than 15 but less than 100 grams each, each of them Class X felonies.
He has a 2015 Aggravated Battery case, two 2014 cases (both Class X Cocaine delivery), and one 2010 Possession of a Controlled Substance and Possession of Cannabis case that are still bound up in the court system.
Most of his previous charges have been dismissed, which practice may have lead to him believing that he can continue to get away with what he's doing, no matter how bad. THIS current set of charges, complete with a huge law enforcement response, illustrates how bad.
Jackson has been lodged at the Saline County Detention Center, and there's no word yet on his bond amount or what a first appearance date is. When we learn more, we'll post.
