SALINE CO., Ill. - A young Galatia man was cited after being hospitalized for treatment of injuries in a crash yesterday involving an ATV.
Illinois State police said the situation began when Dalton R. Grubbs, 20, was driving a white 2017 Polaris RZR southwest on Horseshoe Road yesterday (Friday, April 14, 2017) at about 5:25 p.m.
Approximately a quarter-mile east of Rocky Branch Road, Grubbs failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway, ISP said, and his Polaris exited the roadway to the south and struck a ditch before overturning.
Grubbs was transported by helicopter to an area hospital for treatment of injuries he sustained in the crash.
Grubbs was cited for Careless Operation of an ATV and Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid an Accident.
The crash remains under investigation.
ISP District 19 was assisted at the crash scene by the Saline County Ambulance Service.
