SALINE CO., Ill. - A Galatia woman was hospitalized, then cited for DUI and other charges, following a crash last night in Saline County.
Illinois State Police said the accident occurred at 10:05 p.m. last night (Sunday, June 11) on Payne Road, a quarter-mile north of Cedar Point Road.
At that time, Donna K. Bowlby, 55, of Galatia, was driving a gray 2017 Dodge Journey northbound on Payne Road at that location.
ISP said Bowlby drifted off the roadway and struck the ditch on the west side. She then continued north through a cornfield and came to rest in the ditch on the same side.
Bowlby was transported by ambulance to an area hospital for treatment of injuries she sustained in the crash by Saline County Ambulance Service. She was wearing her seatbelt at the time of the crash.
Bowlby was subsequently cited for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, Illegal Transportation of Alcohol, and Improper Lane Usage.
