SALINE CO. – Alleged acts of sexual conduct with a family member has landed a Carrier Mills man charges with multiple counts in Saline County Circuit Court.
John D. Taborn, Sr., 56, of the 400 block of West Harrison Street in the Mills, was charged on May 16 with serious counts involving sex abuse of a person who was a child at the time of the incident (under the age of 18) and is listed as a family member of the defendant.
The charges read that between January and April of this year, Taborn committed the offense of Aggravated Criminal Sexual Abuse with a person identified as LNW, age 15 at the time of the alleged crimes, in that he touched her vagina through her clothing for the purposes of his own sexual gratification or arousal and at a time when he knew she was under the age of 18.
A second count of the same crime indicates that during the same time frame, he touched the teen’s breast through her clothing for the purposes of sexual gratification.
A third count of the same crime indicates that between August 1 and August 31, 2016, Taborn is accused of touching LNW’s vagina through her clothing for the purpose of his own sexual gratification or arousal.
And then lastly, a fourth count of the same crime outlines the alleged touching of the child’s breast during the August 2016 dates.
The warrant sat unserved for a few weeks after the charges were filed, but it was served on June 7, and Taborn was set for a first appearance on June 26. He was able to post bond of $2,500 on June 7 and was released.
Taborn has no other criminal history in Saline; just traffic violations and civils.
