SALINE CO.— A Raleigh man, identified as Brendan K. Phelps, 34, of South Main St., has earned himself a fourth felony arrest this year after police say he failed to return from a furlough.

Phelps’ criminal history includes an arrest July 22, 2011 during which he was charged with Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol and Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid an Accident.

He was convicted September 10, 2012 on the failure to reduce charge and ordered to pay $1,202 in fines and fees.

Phelps was taken into custody by authorities on February 28, 2017 and charged with a single count each of Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Phelps was arrested again the next month, March 8, 2017, and charged with Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

He was freed from police custody March 15, 2017 after posting a $1,000 cash bond.

A little over a month later, May 1, 2017, he was busted yet again by local lawmen and charged with Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine, Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Somewhere along the line Phelps was granted a furlough, possibly to continue in his ongoing drug rehabilitation efforts.

However, along about July 5, 2017, Phelps failed to return from a court-granted furlough, earning him self another felony, this one for Escape.

Cash bond in the case was at $1,000.
