SALINE CO.— A pair of Saline County woman are facing felonies after authorities say they used another individual’s debit card.
According to information filed in the case, Kristi L. Nixon-Ashford, 49, of the 200 block of West State St., Harrisburg and Janet Crews, 56, of the 700 block of Ballard St., Eldorado, have been charged with Aggravated Identity Theft.
Authorities say that on March 9, 2017, Crews knowingly used a personal identification document of another person, being a Woodforest National Bank debit card in the name of Shirley A. Stricklin, to fraudulently obtain money, goods, services and/or property.
Crews’ criminal history includes a February 23, 2015 conviction for Theft, which earned her a sentence of court supervision for 120 days and cost her $734 in fines and fees.
Ashford’s criminal history includes an arrest March 5, 2004, during which she was charged with Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, Improper Traffic Lane Usage, Unlawful Transportation of Alcohol by a Driver and Driver Not Wearing Seatbelt.
Convicted of the DUI on April 9, 2001, she was sentenced to court supervision for 12 months and ordered to attend DUI school and to fork over $1,992 in fines and fees.
Ashford became a drug felon following an arrest August 26, 2009 when she was charged with Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Convicted January 20, 2010 of the meth possession charge, she was sentenced to 104 days in the county jail, probation for 24 months and ordered to pay $4,465 in fines and fees.
And at the time of her most recent arrest Ashford was awaiting trial in a September 13, 2017 felony case in which she is charged with Forgery.
No bond information was available in either woman’s case.
