UPDATE 10:22PM, November 8th, 2013
We now have some confirmed details from last night’s vandalism spree in Eldorado.
At around 9:00PM last night, November 7th, Eldorado dispatch received several reports regarding vandals breaking vehicle windows near the Eldorado Middle School. Eldorado Police Officer Adam Stanley responded to the calls, and found the suspects. The suspects began to run, and a foot chase ensued.
Chief Shannon Deuel responded, and Harrisburg Patrol Sergeant Whipper Johnson also responded to assist. Officer Stanley was able to chase down and apprehend one suspect, who we have a partial identification on, and are looking into.
Several citizens automobiles were damaged, as well as a van that belongs to the school and a door to the school.
Information has been obtained from witnesses, and the investigation is ongoing. Any other witnesses with information is asked to contact the Eldorado Police Department at (618)273-2141. Any information would be helpful, and individuals may choose to remain anonymous. Chief Deuel would like to thank those coming forward with information that identified the vandals, and urges citizens to contact police with suspicious activity in the future.

ELDORADO– Early morning reports indicate that police officers in the Eldorado area of Saline County hand their hands full tracking and even chasing vandals last night, Thursday, November 7.
Unconfirmed reports indicate that at approximately 9 p.m. several suspects were being chased down Eldorado streets.
County deputies were reportedly busy themselves so Harrisburg city officer Sgt. James “Whipper” Johnson drove north to assist in the search.
Sources indicate the suspects had knocked out at least three windshields and possibly more before officers caught up with them after what one source described as a lengthy foot chase.
It was suggested that methamphetamine may have been involved.
One of the suspects is said to have had a warrant out for his arrest but that he was out of the geographical area the warrant covered.
