SALINE CO., Ill. - The Saline County State's Attorney's Office has announced that Rodney Black has been sentenced to life in prison for the murder of his girlfriend and their unborn child.
SA Molly Kasiar's office said that at a sentencing hearing held May 14 (Tuesday of this week), Judge Walden Morris sentenced Black, 60, most recently of Eldorado, to life in prison for the horrific crime, in which he stabbed his girlfriend, LaTisha Reidelberger, who died from her injuries, in April of 2015.
Reidelberger was pregnant at the time, and so with Illinois' conundrum in laws in which it's okay to kill a baby in utero over an 'unwanted' pregnancy but not okay if it's murder of the host (mother), that was an enhanced charge on the Class M (Murder) count.
