Robert (Bobby) Larry York Jr.

CARMI, Ill. - Saline, Jasper, Effingham and Madison counties all benefited this weekend from warrant arrests made in the city of Carmi, and a Norris City man caught the bulk of them.

That man was Robert (Bobby) Larry York, 42.

Law enforcement caught up with York on the 200 block of North Walnut in Carmi late Friday night, August 2, when at 10:55 p.m., York was picked up on warrants from Saline County (2017 Meth Possession), Jasper (2018 Aggravated Fleeing/Attempting to Elude) and Effingham (2018 Meth Possession)...all of which can probably tell you what primarily occupies Bobby's time.

Now, though, he's occupying a cell in White County's lockup, being held on a total cash bond amount of $11,000...So unless someone in the upper echelon of those he hangs out with wants the IRS sniffing after the money source (anything over ten grand is automatically flagged as 'suspicious' when it comes to posting bond), he's going to be eating Sheriff Doug Maier's cuisine until the other counties come to pick him up.

Tiffany Williford

The other out-of-area warrant arrest also occurred Friday night, but a little earlier (7:45 p.m.) when a Carmi woman apparently turned herself in at the lobby of the police department in Carmi  (that, or she was visiting someone in jail and had a LEADS check run on her when she did; the blotter doesn't specify, but the mind can't help but wonder.)

Whatever the case, documents show that Tiffany L. Williford, 32, of Shipley Street in Carmi, was arrested in the police department lobby on a probation violation warrant out of Madison County, a 2018 felony. No bond was shown to be set for her.
