SALINE CO., Ill.—While we’re waiting for official comment from various agencies we’ve made contact with, we’d like to bring you these images shot by a resident in Muddy, Illinois (Saline County, between Eldorado and Harrisburg) at about 7:10 this morning (Tuesday, December 31, 2013).
Lisa Patton Shukraft said she was standing in her yard outside of Muddy at 3030 Devillez Road, looking to the south and a little east in the direction of Jim Hayes auto, both of which you can see in the below map:
Below is what she saw falling from the sky. She said the object made no sound. Scroll down, as I’m running the photos as large as I can so you can see the great detail, and as such I have to post them below the page material to the right.

When we hear back from any of the agencies, we’ll let you know.
