SALINE CO., Ill.—This post is in response to a handful of calls we received on the Google tip line about a piece being reported on mainstream media out of Wayne County.

Turns out Fairfield’s radio station is reporting as of this morning that Mathew W. Boyd, who ran from courthouse officials and deputies trying to serve a criminal warrant on him (for this Burglary and Theft case) at the courthouse in Harrisburg a week ago yesterday, was apprehended LAST NIGHT. Below is a screen cap taken at 11:45 a.m. today, Tuesday, March 4, 2014:

wfiw screws up again.

That’s simply not the case. Those who were following the story last week know that Boyd was apprehended a mere few hours later after he fled from the courthouse, as we were advised in this post per the below email coming from the Public Information Officer in Saline County (Ken Clore, at last count, who’s a really good guy and is Sheriff Keith Brown’s right-hand man):

So to you callers, we thank you for bringing our attention to it…and for anyone who was summarily confused by the report, you can call the radio station and let them know that Uncle Lenny needs to pay a little closer attention to our site, and/or maybe they should just stop covering Saline County news, since their station’s signal doesn’t reach that far south: 618-842-2159.
