Screen Shot 2014-09-08 at 6.03.13 PMSALINE CO.— An Eldorado meth convict has been jailed after police say he kicked in a woman’s front door— but he claims it was the wrong door.

On August 3, at approximately 5:59 a.m. when officers arrived at 709 Park St., the home of Joshua Hardy, they found Roger Ray Brown, 33, of 802 Park St., Eldorado, in a partially enclosed carport at the residence and asked him what he was doing.

“I kicked in the wrong door,” Brown said.

When officers spoke with Whitney Johnson, she told them she has been in bed asleep at the residence when she heard someone kick in the front door of the home.

She said when she went toward the front door she saw a dark headed man in the living room and when he saw her, he ran.

About 45 minutes later, after being read his rights, Brown told officers that Timmy Rogers had told him that Amanda Unthank had wanted the door kicked in for “excitement for sexual reasons,” so he went to 709 Park St., kicked in and entered through the door.

He said when a different woman came out, he told her it was a mistake and ran.

Brown was formally charged with Criminal Trespass to Residence with Persons Present, Criminal Damage to Property and Disorderly Conduct.

Brown is a meth convict from 2004 when he pled guilty to Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine Manufacturing Materials and was sentenced to five years IDOC.

He is currently being held on $500 cash bond.
