A Harrisburg teen who was sentenced to Boot Camp is the first, and he has now been charged with Escape.

On June 11, 2013 Michael Dean Humm, then 18 years of age, of 3155 Highway 45 South, Harrisburg, pleaded guilty to one of two Unlawful Possession of a Stolen Vehicle charges and had an Arson charge dismissed as part of the deal.

As part of the plea agreement, Humm was sentenced to probation for 36 months and ordered to pay $4,157 in fines and fees.

On April 14, 2015 Humm was charged with two counts of Domestic Battery.

Those charges were later suspended.

Somewhere along the line, Humm was sentenced to complete Teen Challenge, which is commonly referred to as Boot Camp.

Terms of the program include that if, for any reason an individual does not complete the course, they must return to the county jail from which they were sent.

Terms also include they check in with the same county upon completion for further determination of their case.

Apparently Humm, now 21, did neither and is now facing the felony escape charge.

No bond information was available in the case.

GalCo thug

A Gallatin County thug has been charged with Escape in Saline.

Information filed in the case alleges that on December 4 and December 11 Michael W. Willoughby, 31, of 213 East Posey St., Shawneetown, failed to report for periodic imprisonment as per the terms of his sentencing September 2, 2015 after he was convicted in Saline County of felony Theft.

His Gallatin County exploits have lead to charges of Residential Burglary and Theft.

It is unknown, as of press time, if Willoughby has been taken into custody or not.
