SALINE CO., Ill. - A local punk has been charged with more than 30 counts of Aggravated Possession of Stolen Firearms in the first felony in Saline County for 2016.
William Jaydon Emmons, 18, son of William D. Emmons, a longtime Saline County crim, has been charged with Aggravated Possession of 31-plus Stolen Firearms, as well as Possession of a Stolen Vehicle and Burglary.
The weapons charge is a Class X felony; the other two are Class 2...meaning the boy's going to prison if found guilty; the only question is for how long.
The burglary is alleged to have place at Gunslingers, a gun shop located on the highway between Eldorado and Raleigh, this in the overnight hours of January 3 (Sunday).
It's alleged that Emmons, accompanied by another individual or individuals, peeled back the metal siding of the building, cut the wires to the surveillance/alarm system, and availed themselves of weapons.
It's unclear at this point where the stolen vehicle came into play.
Authorities are being very tight-lipped about who might've allegedly accompanied Emmons.
Massive amounts of local, state and federal authorities were on-scene as late as yesterday at Gunslingers. Charges were only filed yesterday; we'll have bond info and a mug of Emmons as soon as we can. Keep checking back.
