ELDORADO, Ill. - Sleep or lack thereof may have been the cause of a misjudgment in space at a drive-thru this morning left quite a bit of damage at a local Huck's early today.

Sources at the scene of the incident tell us that a young gal wearing scrubs and driving a silvery-colored Grand Prix made an error in judgment when she went through the drive-thru at Eldorado Huck's at about ten minutes before 6 a.m. this morning (Friday, October 14) the second time.

She was going around the second time because, she told those on scene, she forgot her coffee with her order and came back around to get it.

Witnesses said the Grand Prix went up over the curb past the drive-thru, struck a telephone box, then struck a nearby car before coming to rest after striking the facade on the west side of the convenience store, which broke the bricks loose and sent things falling.

Witnesses said the car appeared to have been supporting the upper part of the building's facade, keeping it from collapsing altogether.

The airbags deployed in the car upon impact; witnesses said the young woman (whose name we haven't learned yet) appeared to have suffered several cuts on her face, but whether it was from items falling in the car or from the airbag deploying was unclear.

Police and an ambulance responded, and the ambulance crew treated the young woman. It's unclear, however, if she was sent to the hospital for observation.

She did comment that she was "really sleepy" when going through the drive-thru, which probably accounted for the accident when she tried to go back around.

The storefront was being patched up shortly thereafter.
