SALINE CO.— A Johnson County man with a pending drug case in his home county has been charged, along with his car-mates, with a pair of felony drug offenses following a traffic stop.

According to authorities, on January 24, at approximately 1:42 a.m. county deputy Craig Williams observed a vehicle on Land Street, at the intersection of Land and Poplar Streets, traveling southbound.

Dep. Williams watched as the vehicle turned westbound on Poplar Street without the benefit of using a turn signal.

A traffic stop was executed on Rte. 13 West and Lovers Lane.

The driver was identified as Joseph S. Peebels, 54, of 560 Gum Springs Rd., Simpson.

A front seat passenger was identified as Misty Copher, the backseat driver side passenger was identified as Amber Krivanko and the backseat passenger side passenger was identified as Blake Anderson.

While taking an inventory of who all was in the vehicle, Dep. Williams spotted an open Smirnoff bottle on the backseat console, located on the floorboard.

When searched Blake Anderson was found to have on his person 27 sublingual tablets of buprenorphine/ naloxone an addictive opioid, oddly enough, commonly used to treat withdrawal symptoms of opioid addiction.

Anderson was also found to have on his person a pill bottle with 17 tablets of diazepam.

What was not found on his person was anything resembling a prescription for either the buprenorphine/ naloxone or the diazepam.

Confessed morphine IV user

While Mr. Peebels was squirming, officers heard what sounded like pills rattling in a pill bottle.

When Dep. Williams asked him what pills he had, Peebels said he had his prescription medication, however when he handed the pill bottle to the deputy it had no prescription label but had 93 tablets of tramadol and three tablets of alprazolam.

And, try as he might when asked, Mr. Pee could not produce a prescription.

While searching the vehicle for more pills and booze officers located two needles and syringes in a purse, located in the backseat where Amber Krivanko has been sitting.

When asked Krivanko said the needles and syringes were hers and she used them to shot morphine.

Williams also located two needles and syringes inside the front middle console.

Peebels said they belonged to a friend of his who was a diabetic.

Between the driver’s seat and the console was located a baggie containing a green leafy substance.

Misty Copher identified the green leafies as her cannabis and said the alcohol belonged to her as well.

Mr. Peebels was taken into custody and charged with two counts of Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance.

Peebels is also charged in a May 2, 2016 Johnson County drug case in which he is charged with Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Special K

Blake Anderson, 55, of 1539 Maureen Dr., Marion, was charged with one count of Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance.

Anderson’s criminal history includes a February 26, 2015 conviction of Theft and Burglary, which earned him a sentence of jail for 66 days, probation for 24 months and an order to fork over $2,035 in fines and fees, of which he still owes $1,765.

Amber Lee Krivanko, also known as just “K”, age 44, lives with Mr. Anderson and was formally charged with Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

After squeaking out of a drug and theft charge in Williamson County, Miss special K appears to have a bit of a criminal history there as well.

That history includes an April 26, 2012 conviction for Obstructing Identification for which she was jailed for 11 days and ordered to pay $296.40 in fines and fees, of which she has paid nothing.

Cash bond in all three cases were set at $1,000 each.
