SALINE CO., Ill. - Saline County State's Attorney Jayson Clark has announced a sentencing of a Chicago youth housed at the Illinois Youth Center in Harrisburg.
Kaleel Lott, 18, of Chicago, entered a plea of guilty today (Friday, March 31) in Saline County to two Class 3 felony charges of Aggravated Battery.
Judge Walden E. Morris sentenced Lott to 6 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections, with one year of mandatory supervised release (parole) to follow.
On March 3, 2017, the Saline County State's Attorney's Office filed charges against Lott. Those charges arose out of an incident in which it was alleged that Lott, an IYC-Harrisburg inmate, struck another inmate in the head. The investigation of Lott's case was led by Juvenile Justice Supervisor/Internal Investigator Tim Belford of IYC-Harrisburg. Because Lott was 18 years old when he committed the offense, he was prosecuted in adult court.
