Eldorado man in trouble since he was 15 gets arrested yet again

SALINE CO.— An Eldorado man who has been in trouble with the law since the age of 15 has been busted yet again.

Scott Wayne Cannell, 44, of the 1900 block of North Main St., Eldorado, has been charged with a single count of Domestic Battery after authorities say on December 19, 2017, he shoved Darlene Randolph.

Cannell’s criminal history includes a conviction March 25, 1988 for Theft (shoplifting), for which he was ordered to pay $104 in fines and fees.

On October 26, 1992 he was charged with Battery and Unlawful Possession of Alcohol by a Minor.

He was convicted on the underage drinking charge and ordered to pay an undetermined amount in fines and fees.

Cannell was convicted August 2, 1993 of Unlawful Possession of Alcohol by a Minor and ordered to pay $149.50 in fines and fees.

He was convicted August 13, 1993 of Underage Consumption of Alcohol and ordered to pay $187 in fines and fees.

Cannell was sentenced to the county jail for 30 days April 21, 1994 after being convicted of Unlawful Possession/ Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor.

That case cost him another $17.50 in fines and fees.

He became a convicted felon August 16, 1994 when he was found guilty of Theft and sentenced to probation for 12 months and ordered to pay $406.11 in fines and fees.

On May 6, 1997 Cannell was found guilty of one count of Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol and sentenced to court supervision for 12 months and ordered to attend DUI school and to pay $1,343 in fines and fees.

He was busted October 19, 2002 for Driving on Suspended License, but that charge was later dismissed.

Another Driving on Suspended License arrest May 17, 2004 was also later dismissed.

He was arrested February 3, 2016 and charged with two counts of Domestic Battery.

He was convicted on one of the two counts and sentenced to probation for 12 months and ordered to pay $1,452 in fines and fees, of which he still owes $1,257.

Cannell was sentenced to jail for 54 days and probation for two years following a February 28, 2017 conviction for Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance.

That case cost him another $4,677 in fines and fees, of which he still owes $3,792.

 Darlene Randolph, age 48, of 38 Carter St., Eldorado, has a bit of a criminal history herself including a conviction for being a drug dealer.

She was found guilty August 19, 2015 of Unlawful Delivery of Methamphetamine for which she was sentenced to probation for 36 months and ordered to pay $5,577.36 in fines and fees.

Cash bond in the most recent case of the unemployed Scott Cannell was set at $500, and that was posted on January 3. He had been set for a Jan. 9 preliminary hearing in the matter.
