SALINE CO.— A Harrisburg woman who just had a DUI dismissed in May has been charged with punching a Golconda woman in the face.
The alleged Golconda victim then turned around and bonded out the alleged Harrisburg puncher.
According to court documents, on or about June 11, Shantelle Renee Foster, 35, of the 300 block of East Homer St., Harrisburg, committed the offense of Aggravated Battery when she knowingly made physical contact of an insulting or provoking nature with Brandy L. Saltzman, 37, of 42 Franks Rd., Golconda, when she struck Saltzman in the face on or about a public alleyway near the 200 block of West Ogara Street, in Harrisburg.
Foster’s criminal history includes a conviction December 3, 2010 for Retail Theft, which earned her a sentence of probation for 24 months and cost her $1,909 in fines and fees.
A Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol charge from January 22, 2018 was later dismissed.
Saltzman, formerly of 108 Grimes St., Harrisburg, also has somewhat of a criminal history including a Saline County conviction October 25, 2001 on one of three counts of Theft, for which she was sentenced to probation for 24 months and ordered to pay $2,965 in fines and fees.
She is also awaiting trial in at least two cases in Saline, both alleging she committed the offense of Driving Revoked, one January 22, 2018 and a second February 16, 2018.
Saltzman is also serving a probation sentence of 24 months out of Pope County following a Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol conviction from March 5, 2018.
Foster was released from police custody June 14 after Saltzman posted a $200 cash bond on her behalf.
How that sets with Pope County officials who are still waiting for an additional $2,883 in fines and fees out of Saltzman in her DUI case is unclear.
Shantelle Renee Foster is expected back in court later this month.
