SALINE CO.— A Harrisburg woman, already awaiting trial in at least three felony cases from earlier this year and 2016, and who is already serving a probation sentence for drug possession has been busted again for… well, drug possession.

Theresa L. Wilkins, 50, of, depending on what paperwork you look at has been charged with a single count of Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine after police say that on or about June 5, she was found to have on her person less than five grams of the drug.

According to the formal charge sheet, at the time of her arrest, Wilkins lived at 331 West Sloan St., Harrisburg.

When she was arrested in February and charged with felony Identity Theft official paperwork had her living at 1109 Lindell St., West Frankfort.

She is currently awaiting trial in that case.

She was charged July 5, 2014 with Forgery, Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine and Driving Suspended.

Wilkins pleaded guilty September 7, 2016 to the drug possession charge in return for the remainder of the charges being dismissed and was sentenced to probation for 30 months and ordered to pay $5,116.21 in fines and fees, of which she still owes $2,441.21.

And in keeping with state’s attorney Jayson Clark’s current administrative practices, she is also awaiting trial in a September 23, 2016 case in which she is charged with Unlawful Possession of Drug Possession; and a December 13, 2016 case in which she is charged with Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine, Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Wilkins, despite not being able to stay out of trouble or pay her fines and fees, was released from police custody June 8 after a $400 cash bond was posted on her behalf by Noah Wilkins, of 117 West Homer St., Harrisburg.

On her bond sheet Theresa claims to be currently residing at 408 Walnut St., Harrisburg.

She is expected back in court later this month, unless she’s arrested again and then she may make a command appearance in jail togs sooner.

It appears that Ms. Wilkins wasn’t alone.

A Carrier Mills woman, sentenced in September of 2016 to four years in prison, appears to have made it back to the streets in time to be arrested for nearly the same thing that put her in a cage.

Court documents indicate that on or about June 5, Jessica B. Hughes, 31, of 113 North Liberty Railroad St., Carrier Mills, committed the offense of Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine after she was found by authorities to have less than five grams of the drug on her person.

Her criminal history includes a conviction September 11, 2007 for Retail Theft, for which she was sentenced to the Illinois Department of Corrections (IDOC) for two years and ordered to pay $604 in fines and fees, of which she hasn’t paid the first penny.

She was busted again the next year, August 24, 2008 and charged with Retail Theft and, after violating one term of probation after the other was finally sent January 4, 2012 back to IDOC on a sentence of three years.

She was also ordered to fork over another $2,682.60 in fines and fees, of which she still owes $1,536.60.

On July 2, 2015 Hughes was taken into custody and charged with Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine, Theft $500-$10,000 and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Those charges were later dismissed.

On June 12, 2016 she was charged with Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine, Theft, Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and two counts of Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance.

She pleaded guilty September 27, 2016 to the meth possession charge in return for the remainder of the charges being dismissed and a sentence to IDOC for four years and $2,127 in fines and fees, of which she still owes $1,377.

Hughes was released from police custody June 8 after a $294 cash bond was posted on her behalf by Theresa Hughes, more recently of 408 Walnut St., Harrisburg.
