SALINE CO., Ill.—One of the two accused in the bank robbery in Harrisburg last October has been found guilty of a pseudo-related crime that occurred recently while he was in the Saline County Detention Center, being held on charges related to the robbery.
Casey A. Heflin, of Boaz, Kentucky, has been found guilty of Criminal Damage to Government Supported Property, a Class 4 Felony.
On October 31, 2013, while Mr. Heflin was in custody of the Saline County Law Enforcement and Detention Center, he knowingly damaged a sprinkler head located in his cell.
The jury trial was held on February 26, 2014.
A sentencing hearing is scheduled for April 22, 2014.
Class 4 felonies are punishable by 1 to 3 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections. Assistant State’s Attorney, Amanda B. Moore, led the successful prosecution of Heflin.
