HARRISBURG, Ill. - The second stabbing of the week in the city of Harrisburg has sent one person to the Saline County Detention Center.
Authorities have confirmed that the stabbing took place yesterday (Wednesday, August 31; but not what time) at Harrisburg's Walmart, this following some kind of verbal altercation.
According to those at the scene, one individual attempted to pick a fight with another.
The second individual told the first individual to back off, she wasn't going to be messed with; she didn't want to fight, but she WOULD defend herself if Individual A kept it up.
Individual A did indeed keep it up, and when she attacked Individual B, Individual B did defend herself...and in the process, Individual A was perforated a little bit.
She's going to be okay, but ONE OF THEM was arrested at the scene; our sources are saying Individual A, the one who started the fight, was airlifted out last night, having lost a lot of blood. Individual B was arrested, and has been able to post bond.
The first stabbing this week took place at the Poplar Street Huck's in Harrisburg. Deangelo Cowper remains in custody over that; his victim was Opie of Opie's Towing in Harrisburg; the entire incident, despite the damage inflicted on Opie, was actually quite amusing and we'll have that in the next print issue, to whet your appetite a bit for it.
We'll have more as we get it; formal charges have yet to be filed.
