HARRISBURG, Ill. - Details are few, but it's been confirmed that at least one of the regulars in the wannabe-"gang" in Harrisburg was rounded up yesterday morning on the south side of town.

Folks in the vicinity of South Webster at the lower blocks of West Lincoln in town were startled Tuesday morning (May 2) by a huge police presence and effectively a "raid" at an apartment location there, at about 8:45 a.m.

However, as soon as everyone got over being startled, they were pleased to have observed one person being removed in handcuffs: Xzavier Gibbs, 19, the rotten punk who's been behind very nearly every shooting that's gone on in Saline County since late 2014 (you can read about all of them at the link on his name).

That's reportedly Gibbs there up against the cop car

It's being reported that several guns were found in the premises.

That bundle on the roof of the squad is reportedly a batch of weapons found in the apartment

Those in the area have confirmed to us that the shooting this pertains to is the one we reported Monday night as having happened Sunday afternoon.

Eyewitnesses said that when the shots were being fired, there was observed a lot of people running, screaming and ducking for cover, including into two vehicles, one of them a maroon Ford pickup that had had its back glass shot out....but no shooter could be seen.

"Everyone was long gone before all the police showed up," one eyewitness to the incident said.

The same set of apartments was the scene of the 'raid' Tuesday morning. It was conducted quickly and efficiently, according to those who observed it. Hopefully, this is in response to what Mayor John McPeek said Monday: That he had spoken with the city's police commissioner and they were serious about cracking down on the gang-wannabe activity being carried out in town when one of those involved gets a wild hair and decides to fire off rounds in residential areas.

The link to Gibbs' name will only cover the incidents he's either been alleged to have been involved in, or was peripherally involved. For the full explanation of how this whole "gang" thing started, you can read that in this article from earlier this year...which was produced following one of the early shootings this year.

Gibbs, meanwhile, was charged from that incident; as well, he still has dragging through the court system an Aggravated Battery of a Peace Officer charge from 2016; a Home Invasion with a Firearm from 2015, which unfortunately was transferred to juvenile court because it was alleged to have happened two months prior to the filing, and he was still a juvie at that time; and for whatever reason, the cases that brought him to the public's attention - December 2014's Agg Batt With a Firearm and Attempted Murder when it's alleged he shot Bobby Evans Jr. and put him in a wheelchair - have been dismissed.
