SALINE CO., Ill.---A young Carrier Mills woman is dead following an early-morning traffic crash south of Harrisburg.
The crash occurred this morning, Friday, February 27, at approximately 5:53 a.m. on Illinois Route 145 at Pankeyville (Saline County)
Dead in the crash is Holly D. Musgraves, age 26, of Carrier Mills. Musgraves was driving a gray 2002 Chevy Trailblazer northbound at that time, when she lost control on icy pavement, left the roadway, and overturned. Musgraves was not wearing a seatbelt and was partially ejected from the
vehicle, according to the preliminary traffic crash investigative details released by Illinois State Police District 19.
Both lanes of traffic were closed for approximately four hours while the traffic crash was investigated. Both lanes of traffic are open at this time.
Musgraves was pronounced deceased at the traffic crash scene by the Saline County Coroner's Office. The vehicle was towed from the scene.
An ISP Crash Reconstruction Officer (C.R.O.) has been assigned to the crash investigation. In addition, ISP District 19 was assisted at the crash scene by the Saline County Sheriff's Department, Saline County EMS, Saline County Coroner's Office, Harrisburg Police Department, Harrisburg Fire Department, and the Illinois Department of Transportation (I.D.O.T.).
