Screen Shot 2015-03-02 at 1.20.27 PMSALINE CO.—A man who brought his bad habits to Saline County following meeting up with post-Leap Day Tornado 2012 volunteers is now facing a small claim in Saline County circuit court.

After mooching off a Metro-East woman for years and receiving a massive judgment against him in Madison County in 2013, Dan Moutria, 52, escaped that region and moved to Harrisburg, taking up residence in a house on South Webster.

He targeted Harrisburg after the 2012 Leap Day Tornado that tore through the city; Moutria tends to use “volunteer work” as a way to meet unsuspecting women and procure expenses and means of getting by—including homes and cars—via church groups, such as those who helped out substantially in the months following the tornado.

He was rumored to have been romantically involved with the ex of one of Saline/Williamson county’s big bankers, Tom Frank’s now-divorced wife Nanette, considerably Moutria’s senior.

However, when an article appeared on the front page of Disclosure in April 2014 outlining Moutria’s financial woes, along with his bad habits of taking up with females who have a little bit of extra money to spare—as well as the $43,000 judgment in Madison County against him and in favor of one of these heretofore-unsuspecting women—it was said that that budding romance fizzled.

Whether it was rekindled after the furor of the article calmed down remains unknown at this time.

But what is known is a recent filing by Midland Funding, LLC, in Saline County on a debt they say Moutria welched on one of their clients over.

In a filing this past November, Midland, acting on behalf of Webbank/Dell Financial Services LLC as a collector, alleged that Moutria had run out on a debt to Webbank/Dell of $1,473.65.

This debt was outlined in the April 2014 article as one of many he had judgments against him on in Madison: Dell Financial Services for $2,185.71 in 2011.

When Moutria dodged his debts in Madison, Midland followed him to Saline and filed for the debt in November of 2014.

At that time, they set a court date of February 9, 2015, which is when it came to Disclosure’s attention. Private process servers had attempted to serve him summons back in November at his 1008 S. Webster Street address but were unsuccessful in doing so. The February date was thus set, as Midland was apparently trying to give Moutria every opportunity to make good on the debt.

However, he didn’t show up in court for that date, and as a result, a default judgment was issued against him for the $1,473.65 plus court costs of $310.

The case was continued for status of pleadings to April 13.

A summons for that date was issued and the private process server, Kellerman Investigations in Glen Carbon, followed skip trace information from the South Webster Street address and learned that Moutria was no longer there, but was instead at 80 Brady Street in Harrisburg. They found him there, and served the notice.

Whether Moutria will show up at that date remains to be seen.

However, it appears the largesse of those he’s been taking advantage of in Harrisburg since volunteer work for post-tornado cleanup has dried up might be going the way of all the other people he’s managed to live off of up to this point…including large church groups who are charitable, but only to an extent.

There may be another venue he’s ready to skip to; if Midland finds out what it is when it happens, Disclosure will keep the public informed.
